SUSTAINABILITY LIGHTING

Environmental protection and energy sustainability are becoming ever more crucial in today’s business world. Lower energy consumption and less waste of lighting material reduce the negative impact of industry on the environment and improve the health of the Earth’s inhabitants.  These are essential elements of Neolium’s business plan. At Neolium, we are constantly seeking to improve our environmental footprint through innovative, environmentally friendly products constructed of non-harmful materials with high recyclability content and featuring lower energy consumption and lower heat emission.
SUSTAINABILITY IS NO LONGER AN OPTION; IT IS A RESPONSIBILITY.

Light Color

Color Rendering Index, or CRI, is a measurement of how accurately an artificial light source displays color. CRI is determined by comparing the appearance of a colored object under an artificial light source to its appearance under incandescent light or sunlight. CRl is gauged on a scale from 1-100, where 100 represents the maximum value, or color rendering of the greatest fidelity.  In other words, the higher its CRI value, the more accurately an artificial light source renders colors. Lights with lower CRI values cause some colors in fabrics, paint, and people to look duller and less vibrant when illuminated by the light source. Low CRI does not necessarily mean that the product is bad or will harm your eyesight. It simply means that the colors as perceived when using the particular lighting will differ from their appearance under sunlight.
CRl is determined by observing the difference in a color’s appearance according to CIE standard color samples as illuminated by the light source being and then again by a reference illuminant of the same Correlated Color Temperature (see below). Testing for CRI requires specialized equipment designed specifically for this purpose. During the testing, the light spectrum of a lamp is analyzed onto 8 different color values, also referred to as “R values,” and the light receives a score from 0-100 for each CCT, based on how natural the color is in comparison with how the color looks under a “perfect” light source at the same color temperature as the light in question.
By way of illustration, imagine a plate of fruit on a sunny day.  Its perceived colors are real; in other words, the CRI has a value of 100, which is reserved for daylight. On the other hand, the colors of that same plate of fruit, viewed under artificial light, such as CFL or LED with low CRI, will appear faded and unnatural in hue. This parameter is a very important influence with respect to lighting quality.
Color Rendering Index plays a vital role in causing illuminated objects to appear more natural with vibrant tones across the entire color spectrum. Neolium 90 CRI products deliver a vibrant, true-to-life color rendering for every purpose from merchandising to photography. Furthermore, Neolium high CRI lighting is equally valuable for residential and commercial applications, as it can transform a living space or a workspace by highlighting design details and creating a comfortable, natural overall feel. It is worth noting that many utility companies offer financial incentives for installing high-efficiency CRI lighting. With so many benefits, it is easy to see why Neolium High CRI lighting is the right choice for your next lighting decision.

Correlated Color Temperature (CCT)

Correlated Color Temperature (CCT) is an important aspect of color appearance that characterizes how cool or how warm a light normally appears.  It is indicated in units called Kelvin (K). Pursuant to the Black-Body Radiator theory, LED light sources use CCT to measure the appearance of a theoretical black object. LED sources with lower Kevin values produce a “colder” yellow light, and those with higher Kevin values produce a “hotter” white-blue light.

Damp Location
This symbol indicates that the product is suitable for use in damp locations.  The products can be used in both damp and dry indoor or outdoor locations that are generally or periodically subject to condensation of moisture in, on, or adjacent to the electrical components of a lighting fixture or ceiling fan.
High Color Rendering (CRI>90)
This symbol indicates that the product has a CRI value of 90 or greater. In general, CRI is a measurement of how accurately an artificial light source displays color. CRI is measured by comparing the appearance of a colored object under an artificial light source to its appearance under incandescent light or sunlight. CRI is rated on a scale from 1-100, and the higher its CRI value, the more accurately an artificial light source renders colors.
Omnidirectional Lighting Distribution
This symbol indicates that the product features an omnidirectional beam angle lighting distribution.
In compliance with the Energy Star standard, Neolium offers a complete line of A-Lamp featuring 330° omnidirectional lighting distribution.
Instant On/Off
This symbol indicates that the product features instant on/off functionality without no warm-up time.
Suitable For Use In Enclosed Fixture
This symbol indicates that the product is suitable for use in enclosed fixtures.
LED lamps are very sensitive to heat. When installed in an enclosed fixture, LED lamps generate heat that has nowhere to go.  The resulting increase in the fixture’s internal temperature will shorten the LED lamp’s lifespan and will damage the lamp itself. Neolium lighting products are specially design to resolve this problem easily.
Dusk to Dawn Feature
This symbol indicates that the product has a dusk-to-dawn feature.
These products are equipped with photocell technology for extra energy saving achieved by monitoring the ambient light level and turn the light on as dusk falls.
Smart Technology
This symbol indicates the product is a “smart light.”
These products can be controlled with WiFi, bluetooth or other smart technologies. Consumers can turn these products on and off, initiate dimming, or alter color temperature by phone, iPad, or other electronic devices.

CERTIFICATION EXPLANATION

ETL Listed
The ETL Listed Mark indicates to distributors, retailers, and customers that a product has been tested by Intertek and has been deemed compliant with accepted national standards. For more information, please visit http://www.intertek.com

UL Classification
There are multiple variations of marks for the UL Listing Service.  Some of these are for use in the United States, others for use in Canada, and still others for use in both markets.
